With our growing county and large commuting population, we need to focus on improving public transportation and reducing traffic congestion. We need to invest in better roads and traffic control equipment. Additionally, we need work towards a more pedestrian-friendly with move bicycle lanes and safer walkways.

Maintaining the current property tax will help homeowners who may be struggling. Holding the property tax for one to two years will enable the county to stabilize the budget, verify our spending, and allow for the reallocation of funds based on the priorities of the community, which are roads, sideways, bridges, sewers, and water pipes.

Our children are our future. Therefore, we must invest in their education. I aim to emphasize literacy and reading comprehension in children from preschool to middle school. Providing these students with phonics learning will not only improve reading comprehension, but also develop spelling skills and enhance vocabulary.

Additionally, I advocate for encouraging high school students, who do not intend on receiving a college education, vocational schools that will allow them to gain practical skills, knowledge, and experience that may lead them down a successful career path.

There are a multitude of approaches we can and should be taking to improve current housing costs: increasing funding, continuing mixed-income developments, repairing and renovating existing affordable housing properties–especially for our senior citizens–and advocating for policy change at the local and state levels. Furthermore, I intend to establish more community outreach and education regarding how to engage civically in supporting these changes.

It is paramount that our community addresses the critical personnel, vehicles and equipment shortages in all Metro departments where basic timely services are not provided. Nashville, being so diverse, needs to hire personnel of different nationalities within the Metro government to prevent language barriers within the community. Overall, in enacting these changes, the community will experience a better quality and timely service.
